James & Marlies Green

James and Marlies Green are not new to the education, social justice, entertainment and television business sectors. Both of the Greens graduated from the Professional Development Program at Simon Fraser University in BC Canada. Both hold Professional Teaching Certificates. James taught in the public school system for 20 years and Marlies, after gaining her BA in Dance, taught dance at the Green’s fine and performing society and school and in the community of Delta. During Marlies’ teaching practicum she taught students grades one to three in a one room school in Crescent Beach BC . To add to their educational experience and working to assist children and families, James was elected as a trustee to the Delta Board of education. Marlies taught community dance and James, a former professional singer and saxophonist/musician, taught classroom music to children k-7. James also conducted junior high school and secondary school band and choir and he taught private lessons on band instruments.

Within their fine and performing arts school, both of the Greens taught fine and performing arts classes from toddlers to youth. They also presented children’s concerts with such performers as Charlotte Diamond as well as presenting acts from around the world including acrobats from China and a string quarter from Russia. As a schoolteacher at Delta schools along with Marlies’ participation, James and Marlies produced entertainment evenings that featured student performances in dance and music. Furthermore, James is a writer and artist.

In the areas of social justice James has been an advocate for children and families and social justice advisor with Marlies’ advisory support. His work has been advocating for people who have had needs to seek justice, accountability and transparency from the education, health, justice and consumer sectors. (www.justiceadvisory.com)

As to the television sectors both of the Greens have produced, executive produced, directed, creative produced television series, commercials and pilots. Specifically they are known for the world famous Urban Peasant cooking series at one time seen in 120 countries world wide. The Greens created a cable series called Stage of the Arts, an equestrian special called Catch the Step that aired on BCTV and several pilots, one called Sports Star Challenge http://youtu.be/IuQScYkf0eU. They also produced two cooking series pilots, one called Chef on the Run hosted by former Olympians Doug and Diane Clement and the other called Kids Cook. They have both hosted television programs and pilots. Marlies hosted a series pilot called Don’t Get old Get Outdoors, which James Executive Produced. James hosted his cable series called Stage of the Arts which Marlies floor directed and co produced. Furthermore, James as an executive producer has raised millions of dollars for television projects and has gained significant revenues from merchandising products related to such programs as their cooking series.

The Greens have collaborated on numerous projects and celebrated their 54 years of marriage in June of 2023.
